Something 12/5/13

"fuck" she slammed into the wall. the wallpaper pattern raced past her eyes as the floor rose. Breathless she found her feet again and braced herself against the wall to stare him down. Despite his towering size he coward under her glare.
"forgive me mistress." he mumbled under his breath, "i didn't realize..."
"you didn't realize because you didn't look, fool" She dabbed at a spot of blood beginning to form on her lip. "he was mine and look what you did." She motioned to the lifeless form draped over the couch between them.
"what should i do with him?" he gathered her belongings from the floor.
"whatever you want," she snatched her dress away from him, "he's useless now."
"yes madam." He said to an empty room. the sound of her boots steadily fading away gave him courage to let out a sigh.
*
Laughter filtered up from downstairs as Ellipsis surveyed her foyer. Men and women lounged across sofas and chairs indulging in minor vices she provided. Hers was always a home to rare drinks and cherished poisons. That dark hole you find yourself in at 3am when you embrace your demons and need someone or something to take the edge off. she made her way through the crowd to the lower floor. She gave a coy smile to those she deemed to see. All walks of life surrounded her, embracing their darkness and feeding hers.
A tall brute of a man placed himself between her and the doorway. "Lasar wishes to speak with you."
"he can wish all he wants, I'm not his to command."
"this whole city is his to command." the brute grabbed her arm and drug her along.
"If you insist, I suppose I could make time for him." She gave no mind to how roughly he treated her.
They weaved through the crowd to an ornate door on the far wall. which lead to the private rooms. The brute took her through the winding hallway to a distance room far from the main party. He pushed her in and swiftly closed the door behind her.
She held her ground and let her eyes adjust to the dim light on the study she now found herself in. Across from her was a pale man in a cheap suit sitting at a desk. He kept his hat on as she approached.
"I knew I'd find you one day." he said not looking up from his stack of papers.
"If I had know you were looking good sir I would have left my card" she sat easily across from him.
"you feed on darkness, correct?"
"I consume darkness, I'm not some vampire feeding off the helpless. It sustains me yes, but i feed just you do."
"You dwell in darkness as well then, yes?"
"I dwell in the dark recesses of this city because this is where darkness thrives, and those addicted to it flock"

10/15/13

She leaned out across the balcony and gazed out at the cityscape. The harsh night winds torn at the hem of her ethereal skirt and the collar around her neck dug into her flesh, reminding her that this view was no without it price. Night surrounded the buildings before her, leaving the soft glow of the moonlight to show their silhouettes. She pulled at her leash, but it refused to give.
"You've been stargazing long enough." She felt a tug on the other end. "It's time."
She did her best to hold her ground but sudden yank of the chain brought her down. There was no sympathy on the other end, the one in the darkened room let her flail along the ground as he brought her to him. She managed to find her feet just before reaching the base of his chair. She stood deathly still has his hands followed the curves of her body. His fingers traced light circles across her breast and up her neck, briefly passing her lips and then moving back down again.
"So beautiful when you're silenced my sweet."
She looked back at the iron rod doors leading out to the terrace and the city below.

Heels

Cold pressed against his cheek as she traced her stiletto heel across his form. He pulled at the chains binding him to the floor. Her response was a swift kick to his ribs.
"I didn't release you" she circled him.

LeechGirl (working Title)

Drip.
     Drip.
         Drip.
The roof of her cell was leaking again. She pushed the bowl from breakfast across the floor with her foot, searching for the drops. She didn't dare move from her corner for fear of being discovered. Screams seeped through the walls around her, but oddly there was no pain with them. A sudden splash of wet on her toes said she'd found what the spot. She left the bowl there and pulled her knees to her chest. She leaned her head against her cell wall and let her thoughts stroll lazily through the dark forests of past and future tragedies.
Howls and pleas echoed down the halls as an other was escorted further into the depths of the infirmary. The begging subsided while the group slowly passed Sa'crets room. Pain crawled up her spine and trickled outward to her fingers and toes. She sunk a little deeper into her wall but the shadows did nothing to ease her pain. Then it was gone, the voice cried out, and Sa'cret was left empty again.
A few moments later her door slammed open and two white clad men walked in.
"Alright Sa'cret," The taller of the two moved in, "The ShadowHouse says you've had enough."
Sa'cret stood and made her way to the men.

8/6/13

She braced herself with both hands against the wall and willed stilettoed heels to hold their ground. Heat rose within her and adhered her black dress to her skin. Her jewelery subtly clanked against itself in rhythm with his movements.  She kept her breathing in check careful to stay silent while she listened for the others on the other side of the door. A playful smirk touched her lips as she heard him say her name.
"Come for me." She said into the darkness.
"You little bitch." She heard from behind her. He pulled her to him and moved her to a long forgotten couch. "you know you can't escape me."
"I'm sure I can." She countered, wrapped her leg around his and gained the topmost position. He had her again in the next instant and they met the floor harder than either expected. The impact knocked the wind out of her and only mildly stunned him. She didn't wait for her body to recover,  she squirmed out from his grip and stood above him. "You won't escape me." She held him with a seductive gaze and placed her heel on his shoulder for good measure. "You are mine."
He maintained her gaze but remained silent.
She pushed him away and back into the shadows. "Go back to your darkness and lick your wounds."
"You're not rid of me my dear." He spoke in his true voice, a guttural sound that scraped across your bones.
"I never intend to be rid of you." A distant whisper as if she was already farther away then the room could possibly allow. "We live in Darkness, you will always be near my side. But tonight I have won."
"If you call out I will not hurry."
" I understand, I do the same." She shifted her feet beneath her. "Now return." She landed a stiletto deep in his flesh and the next moment he was gone. Back to the shadowed world they belonged, that thick darkness of infinite weight.
With a sigh she straightened her dress. A quick glance in the darkened mirror revealed little hope in hiding the altercation, but she adjusted what little makeup she had. She shook out her hair and settled on her best mischievous smile. Another deep breath and stepped out into the brightly lit hallway and made her way back to the main rooms of party.

07/24/13

She stood naked save for the knee-high combat boots and rectangular framed glasses in the dark room. The place was absent of furnishings and the city lights cast a hazy glow through the open window. We're the same you and I.
"I am nothing like you."  She pulled something from her boot and flung it into the darkest corner.
She heard a soft chuckle deep within her bones. You think a blade will stop me?
"No, but it's all I have for now." She moved to the window. She could feel him in the shadows, watching her. Waiting. I still consume your thoughts, don't I?  A shiver ran down her spine and she forced herself to stand taller. "Release me."
The door behind her swung open and harsh light flooded the room. She refused to cover herself, but allowed herself a small smirk when she noticed the four nibs imbedded in the right shoulder of his trench coat and the fountain pen in his chest. He did little to hide it from her as well, they were both far to familiar with each other to resort to such things. You can't run from me.
"I wouldn't dare."
 We are one.
"I am no longer that person, I'm a writer."
But you're writing our story, nothing's changed.
"I'm writing my story, you were a part of my life once."
 I still am
"No." She sidestepped him and made her way to the door. He grabbed her wrist as she past him and suffered through her glare. She twisted out of his hold and heartlessly removed the items she had used for weapons.
You know you can't leave me
"I'm not leaving you, I'm separating our lives."
 That won't work
"Then I'll do something else" She spun around and headed for the entryway.
I'll be here when you're done.
"I know." She didn't look back .

Ellipsis

The wall collided with her face sending stars across her vision. The surprise alone sent her tumbling to the floor below. She ignored the blood trickling down her neck as she stood to face her attacker. A white clad gentleman in coattails, he stood motionless in her doorway. The world stood still between them for what could have been hours, her eyes held him captive as an unspoken dialogue passed between them. A soft nudge pushed her forward and she took the moment to press an attack of her own. A quick swing on the right and a jab from the left but he deftly avoided each and countered with a swift strike of his fist to her midsection. She found the floor again and his foot on her back strong encouraged her to stay down this time. She nodded her surrender and rolled onto her back to look up at him.
"Why must you resist every time, my dear?" He didn't meet her gaze as he knelt down.
"Why do mock the suit of a gentleman?" She put as much venom as she could into her words.
His gloved hand wrapped around her neck and pinned her to the floor as the other began unbuttoning her blouse; "I never meant to mock this suit, dear. I simply felt your connection to it and thought you might prefer this look. If you don't, then I'll remove it."
"Nothing you wear will change what you are."
"Say it." His hand caressed her bare breast and move down along her side to her thighs.
"No."
He moved closer to her. "Say what I am."
"I can't"
He was on top of her now, her bare skin pressed again the harsh fabric of his clothing. The hand on her neck moved to cradle her head as he pulled her in for a deep kiss.
Her lips moved to form his name, a voiceless word but enough for now.
His hand again explored her body as he watched her shift under his touch. She swatted at his hand in a vain attempt to stop him but a firm tug on her hair and she was his again.

Cold Wind's Howl

Silence pressed itself against her lips as she surveyed the chaos around her. Down below her window the city's streets where ablaze, men and women ran this way and that as if there was an escape. She neither feared the flames nor felt remorse for those contending with them, only the cold emptiness that had filled her since the beginning. "Why do you torment yourself by watching those cretins?" A voice from her door  intruded. "they do this every night, it must get boring."
"It's the only truth still flowing through this town," She turned to look at the shadowed figure in her doorway. "they may repeat over and over but at least they're still breathing."
"I think you overrate breath"
"I'm sure you do. But you've been living this for far longer, I'm not as cynical."
"Yet" He tugged at the chain secured to her neck, beckoning her to him. "I'm a patient man, one day you'll see things as I do."
She stood close enough to have felt his chest raise and fall if he ever took a breath. "There's nothing that would cause me to abandon them as you have."
"They abandoned us, why should we care what happened next?"
"We belonged with them once-"
"Once, 'til they discovered our nature and cast us aside. Let the world burn my dear, join me tonight."
She hesitated.
"I don't want to force you beloved."
"I know."
"Just keep your eyes on me, don't even look their way."
She nodded and he lead her away. Down the hallways, through the flames that never touched them. Twisting this way and that to avoid the city dwellers defending what they could in desperate slow motion as they did every night. He pulled her closer as they reached the top most floor of the tower. She pulled the hidden lever he guided her through to the balcony. He wrapped his arms around as they looked out across the cityscape. His voice rang out in the utter nothingness, a simple tune from a year long past. A fitting song of chaos and fire from a world no longer here.
