Something 12/5/13

"fuck" she slammed into the wall. the wallpaper pattern raced past her eyes as the floor rose. Breathless she found her feet again and braced herself against the wall to stare him down. Despite his towering size he coward under her glare.
"forgive me mistress." he mumbled under his breath, "i didn't realize..."
"you didn't realize because you didn't look, fool" She dabbed at a spot of blood beginning to form on her lip. "he was mine and look what you did." She motioned to the lifeless form draped over the couch between them.
"what should i do with him?" he gathered her belongings from the floor.
"whatever you want," she snatched her dress away from him, "he's useless now."
"yes madam." He said to an empty room. the sound of her boots steadily fading away gave him courage to let out a sigh.

Laughter filtered up from downstairs as Ellipsis surveyed her foyer. Men and women lounged across sofas and chairs indulging in minor vices she provided. Hers was always a home to rare drinks and cherished poisons. That dark hole you find yourself in at 3am when you embrace your demons and need someone or something to take the edge off. she made her way through the crowd to the lower floor. She gave a coy smile to those she deemed to see. All walks of life surrounded her, embracing their darkness and feeding hers.
A tall brute of a man placed himself between her and the doorway. "Lasar wishes to speak with you."
"he can wish all he wants, I'm not his to command."
"this whole city is his to command." the brute grabbed her arm and drug her along.
"If you insist, I suppose I could make time for him." She gave no mind to how roughly he treated her.
They weaved through the crowd to an ornate door on the far wall. which lead to the private rooms. The brute took her through the winding hallway to a distance room far from the main party. He pushed her in and swiftly closed the door behind her.
She held her ground and let her eyes adjust to the dim light on the study she now found herself in. Across from her was a pale man in a cheap suit sitting at a desk. He kept his hat on as she approached.
"I knew I'd find you one day." he said not looking up from his stack of papers.
"If I had know you were looking good sir I would have left my card" she sat easily across from him.
"you feed on darkness, correct?"
"I consume darkness, I'm not some vampire feeding off the helpless. It sustains me yes, but i feed just you do."
"You dwell in darkness as well then, yes?"
"I dwell in the dark recesses of this city because this is where darkness thrives, and those addicted to it flock"
